YourJourney
to Working at Sea.

1. Apply

Submit your application and CV through our website. Every application is reviewed by our recruitment team to ensure we're matching the right people with the right opportunities.

2. Let's Get to Know You

If your experience matches one of our opportunities, we'll invite you to an initial conversation. This is our chance to learn more about you, your goals and what you're looking for in your next career move, while giving you the opportunity to ask questions about life at sea.

3. Interview Preparation

Before meeting one of our cruise retail partners, we'll help you prepare with practical advice, interview guidance and tips to help you present your experience with confidence.

4. Partner Interview

You'll interview directly with one of our cruise retail partners. Every brand has its own recruitment process, but we'll make sure you know what to expect before the interview takes place.

5. Offer & Acceptance

Congratulations! Once you've received an offer, we'll guide you through the next steps and explain everything you'll need before joining your ship.

6. Get Read To Embark

Once you've accepted your offer, it's time to complete the required documentation, including your medical, visa and any cruise line onboarding requirements. After everything is approved, you'll be ready to join a ship. Embarkation dates vary depending on operational requirements, so some candidates may join within weeks, while others may wait a little longer for the right opportunity.

7. Ongoing Support

Your journey doesn't always end at embarkation. Depending on your cruise retail partner and the support programme available, you may continue to receive guidance before you leave home, as you settle into life onboard and throughout your contract. Our goal is simple- to help you feel supported, confident and ready to Thrive at Sea.

FAQ's

1. Do I need cruise ship experience?

Not necessarily. Many of our opportunities are open to candidates with previous retail, luxury retail or customer service experience. We look for motivated individuals with a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and a willingness to learn.

2. What types of retail roles do you recruit for?

We recruit for a range of onboard retail positions, including luxury watches, jewellery, fashion, beauty, accessories, souvenirs and other premium retail environments. Opportunities vary depending on our cruise retail partners' requirements. Please reach out to us with questions.

3. How long are contracts?

Most retail contracts range from five to eight months, depending on the cruise line and position.

4. Will I have my own cabin?

Accommodation varies depending on your role and the cruise line. Many crew members begin by sharing a cabin, while more senior positions may enjoy private accommodation.

5. Will I have time to explore ports?

In many cases, yes. Opportunities to go ashore depend on your work schedule, the itinerary and operational requirements, but many crew members enjoy exploring destinations throughout their contract.

6. How long does the recruitment process take?

The recruitment process varies depending on the position, cruise retail partner and the time required to complete your onboarding requirements. We'll keep you updated every step of the way.

7. What happens after I receive an offer?

You'll complete the required onboarding requirements, including your medical, visa and other documentation. Once you're ready to join, your embarkation date will be confirmed as positions become available.

8. Is this a long-term career?

It can be. Some people complete one contract before returning home, while many others build rewarding careers at sea, progressing into leadership positions over multiple contracts and eventual shore side positions.

9. Will I receive support after I join the ship?

Depending on your cruise retail partner and the support programme available, you may continue to receive guidance before departure, while settling into life onboard and throughout your contract.

10. What if I've never worked away from home before?

Many people join a cruise ship for their very first contract without any previous experience of living abroad or working at sea. With the right attitude, a willingness to learn and support throughout your journey, most people quickly adapt and gain confidence as they settle into life onboard.
